Dear Uncle Don,
We arrived home today, exhausted from the 3 airplane flights that
brought us back to Philadelphia, but before I drop into bed I want
to thank you for helping make my stay at Pu’u O Hoku Ranch an
experience I will never forget.  You cared for our party of 40+
with what I can only call a real family feeling.  Being in your
kitchen during food preparation was not just a learning experience
 – it was genuinely entertaining.  You should sell tickets!  I wasn’t
kidding when I said that I see a TV cooking show in your future.
The food you put out was never less than first-rate.  I loved the
imaginative ways you put your dishes together.  And I loved
being able to stroll into your kitchen any time of day and find a
welcoming smile and a plate of something scrumptious.   I’d say
it was just like home except that my mom wasn’t nearly as
well-stocked and inventive as you are.
Your story telling on the final evening was icing on the cake.
It showed us another side of you beyond your incredible
hospitality.  Don – you are one-of-a-kind --- completely
professional in your approach to food service, but also a
warm human being who cares even more about his  guests
than his food.
>From the bottom of our hearts, and well-filled bellies
 – thank you.

Dear Don,
We want to thank you for the best meal we have had since getting to Molokai.
It was even more special because it was in the comfort of our own "home". You
came, you cooked, you cleaned up and we relaxed and played games while you
worked. It was a memorable experience and we would love to bring you home with
us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
